April 1, 1938, Castlegar, BC ~ March 3, 2023, Trail, BC
It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle, Peter Demoskoff on March 3, 2023 at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail, BC.
Peter was born April 1, 1938 in Castlegar, BC to Pete and Mary Demoskoff. Peter met Valentina in 1957 and married in 1959 at Mossleigh, Alberta. Peter and Val moved back to Thrums, BC in 1962 where Peter started his journey to fulfill his life-long dreams.
Peter was well known throughout the community for his window businesses (Tarry's Woodcraft & Peter's Windows) which he achieved building his own designed cedar windows and patio doors that were sent to Japan, many areas of the US, Alberta and BC.
Peter enjoyed his hobbies which were fishing, cooking, huckleberry picking, gardening, music and restoring his 1951 Chevrolet Fleetline Deluxe. Peter and Val travelled throughout the world but the most important one was the trip to Russia in 2005 with a group of people.
Peter loved life and lived it to the fullest. He wasn't the type to sit around too long. He went to hockey games, enjoyed having coffee with his A & W crew, and visit friends and relatives. Peter was a patient, gentle, calm and sociable person. Always happy and always greeted you with a smile. He took many people under his wing and he always believed in them. He touched the lives of several generations. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren. Peter will be greatly missed by his family and all that knew him.
Peter is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Valentina, daughter, Brenda (Larry) Pompu and their children Danielle (Joel) Beatty and Tyler Pompu. (Son), Burt Demoskoff, (son), Stacey Demoskoff and his chirldren Nick and Sarah Demoskoff as well as many nieces, nephews, (cousin) Marlene (Bill) Kalesnikoff and family.
