Obituary for Nancy Verigin
June 20, 1936 – March 2, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Nancy.
Nancy is survived by son’s Jerald (Sheila), Brian (Cari & family) and James, her sister Winnie (South Slocan) and two grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and 16 nieces and nephews, many friends and especially Margaret Laktin (Mugs) and Pat Gretchen.
Nancy was very caring about her family, loved to cook, sew, knit, do puzzles and loved nature. She was passionate about gardening and canning.
Mom worked at Dixie Lee, she opened many Dixie Lees in B.C., managed and trained staff. In 1981 she moved to Grand Forks and worked as a cook at the hospital. She loved her job and the people she worked with. Mom retired in the late 90’s and moved back to Castlegar in 2014.
We sincerely appreciate all the support and kind words we have received from so many. A memorial will be held at a later date.
