Obituary for Mary Kanigan
Mary Kanigan passed away peacefully in her 96th year on September 13, 2023.
She was born August 8th, 1927 at Langham, Saskatchewan to Alex and Grace Sherstobitoff. Her family then moved to a farm acreage at Glade, BC.
In 1943 she married Peter H. Kanigan and settled on a woodlot and garden farm in the Slocan Valley at Appledale.
Mary spent many years on the 12 acre farm raising her family. This included milking cows, cooking and growing a big vegetable garden.
Mary was predeceased by her husband in 2011 and by her parents, brothers, Alec and Peter and her sister Nellie.
Surviving are four sons: Peter (Penny), Andrew (Shannon), Jack and Harry (Patricia) and grandson, Jason.
