Obituary for Marie Ann Wallenius
Wallenius, Marie Ann (May 28th, 1937 – April 4th, 2023)
Marie Ann Wallenius passed away peacefully with family on April 4th, 2023.
Born May 28th, 1937, in St. Boniface MB, Anne lived most of her life in the Thunder Bay Region. Ann was a kind, tenacious individual. Her encounter with Polio never deterred her from going to business college and working for the Canada Post Office and Ontario Highways Department. She made many friends over the years and loved her family very much. Though small in stature, she had the heart of a lioness and would not be dissuaded from what she felt was right. As the Finns would say, plenty of “Sisu”!
In her final years, Ann moved to Castlegar BC to be close to her family.
Ann is predeceased by her husband Hans and parents, Gus and Vera Carlson. She will be missed by her son Dan (Angela), brothers Roy (Diane), Jack (Sharon) and sister Jean Carlson.
