Barry Perehudoff
“Papa Hoots”
May 12, 1959 – January 31, 2023
It is with sadness and love that we announce the passing of Barry Perehudoff on January 31, 2023, at the age of 63.
Barry was born in Nelson in 1959 and raised in Thrums. He was a proud Doukhobor and life-long resident of Castlegar and surrounding area. He was kind, friendly, outgoing, animal-loving, athletic, musical, and theatrical. In high school, he loved acting in drama class, playing trumpet in band, and captaining the basketball team. Golf and curling were two of the loves of his life, and he also had many fond memories playing slow pitch with the Blueberry Creek Hysterical Society.
Barry will be deeply missed by his daughter Leeza (partner Brandon), parents Mary and Bill, sister Melissa (partner Gary), the mother of his child, Caroline, and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Barry was predeceased by his brother Jim and his uncles Terry and Alex.
His family would like to thank Dr. Ankenbauer and Dr. Piljek, the incredible nurses and staff at Castleview Care Centre, and all those that supported him through his medical journey.
Barry, we will love you forever.
